Landry Wilfried GOTTO MOKOLONGO is an emblematic figure and a dedicated advocate in the fight against sickle cell disease, a genetic disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. As a sickle cell patient himself, he brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the daily challenges and unmet needs faced by this community.
As the founder of DREPANOCARE, Mr. GOTTO MOKOLONGO launched a movement aimed at raising awareness among the public and policymakers about the impact of sickle cell disease, while working to improve medical care, prevent complications, and reduce inequalities. DREPANOCARE has established itself as a leading advocacy and awareness organization, particularly in the Central African Republic, where it played a key role in the development of the national sickle cell disease control plan in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population.
